Cosmetic Dentist in North Park, San Diego
Most people who ask about cosmetic dentistry have one specific thing in mind: a front tooth that chipped, coffee stains that brushing will not lift, or a gap they keep noticing in photos. At Sunrise Dental Arts, Dr. Andy Keith starts with that concern and works back to the simplest treatment that can address it. North Park patients get the same cosmetic dentistry in San Diego we offer everyone at our Hillcrest office, from a single bonded tooth to a planned smile makeover.
Start With the Change You Want to See
A cosmetic consultation here is not a sales menu. We ask what bothers you, look closely at the teeth involved, and check the gums and bite that any cosmetic work will rely on. Sometimes the answer is one short visit. Sometimes it is a few treatments done in a sensible order. Either way, you see the plan and the estimate before anything starts.
North Park sits east of Hillcrest along University Avenue, so cosmetic visits are easy to fit around a workday on that side of town. If you want routine cleanings closer to home or more about our practice, visit our North Park dentist page.

Tell Us What Bothers You
We start with a conversation about the teeth you notice most and how you would like them to look. An exam and photos help us see what you see, including details like how much of each tooth shows when you talk.
Check Health First
Decay, gum inflammation, or heavy grinding can undermine cosmetic work, so we look for them early. If something needs care, we treat it before any cosmetic step so your results start on a healthy foundation.
Choose Your Treatment
Dr. Keith explains which options fit your goals, what each one involves, and how long results usually last. You get a written estimate and a timeline, and you decide what to do and when.
Complete the Work
Whitening and bonding are often finished in one or two visits. Veneers and crowns usually take two appointments, with temporaries in between while the dental lab makes your final restorations.
Follow Up and Maintain
Afterward we check your bite and how everything feels in daily use. Regular cleanings and checkups let us polish, monitor, and repair cosmetic work early if it ever needs attention.

FAQs
How far is your office from North Park?
Our office is at 3645 Fourth Avenue in Hillcrest, west of North Park. Most North Park patients drive straight across on University Avenue. The trip is usually short, though timing depends on traffic.
Can I schedule a cosmetic visit before work?
Often, yes. We open at 7 a.m. on Thursdays and at 8 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Consultations, whitening sessions, and bonding can often fit into a morning appointment, and we will tell you how long to plan for when you book.
Which cosmetic treatment changes my natural teeth the least?
Whitening and bonding are the most conservative options. Whitening does not remove tooth structure, and bonding typically needs little or none. Porcelain veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel, so they are a permanent choice. That is why we often try the simpler options first when they can meet your goals.
Will whitening lighten my crowns or bonding?
No. Whitening works on natural enamel, but it does not change the color of crowns, veneers, bonding, or fillings. If you plan to whiten and also have visible dental work, we usually whiten first and then match any new or replacement restorations to the brighter shade.
Is cosmetic dental treatment painful?
Most cosmetic treatment is comfortable. Whitening and bonding usually need little or no numbing, although whitening can cause short-lived sensitivity. Veneers and crowns involve local anesthetic while the teeth are prepared. We also offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation for patients who feel anxious.
